About the event

Join Friends of Parks Queensland as we discover Mapleton National Park after dark!

Starting from the Day Use Area, volunteer leader Sue Tonga will lead a walk to search for arboreal species such as the greater glider, sugar glider, powerful owl, and more. Here, you will learn from an experienced naturalist about the wonders of the nocturnal world and why protected areas are such a vital refuge for these special species.

Acknowledgement Of Country

Friends of Parks Queensland respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the lands and waters where we live, work, and play — including the Kombumerri, Gambuwal, Githabul, Yaggera, Jinibara, Butchulla, and Gubbi Gubbi peoples. We honour their deep connection to Country, pay our respects to Elders past and present, and recognise their enduring custodianship that has cared for these places for countless generations
