With support from the Queensland Government’s Threatened Species Recovery Action Grants, this project is helping the long-nosed potoroo bounce back through predator control, fire management, and community action. Early successes include new population discoveries and restored habitat across southern Queensland.

Funded by the City of Gold Coast, the Fluttering Wings Project is on a mission to protect two rare butterflies—the Richmond birdwing and the elusive Illidge’s ant-blue. Through citizen science, education, and local surveys, we’re engaging the community to help rediscover and conserve these unique species and their habitats. The project will culminate in the Gold Coast’s first Threatened Species Symposium, celebrating local action for local wildlife.

Sheep Station Creek Conservation Park is a vital refuge for threatened species like koalas and greater gliders in a rapidly developing area. With community support and partners like ECOllaboration, we’re monitoring gliders using spotlighting, thermal drones, and nest box cameras, while volunteers tackle invasive weeds to restore habitat. Get involved and help protect this special patch of forest!
