About the event

🦋 Join Us for a Richmond Birdwing Butterfly Survey

Head into the forest with Friends of Parks Queensland and Wildlife Queensland on April 4th at Upper Mudgeeraba to assist with field surveys for the Richmond Birdwing Butterfly.

Working alongside experienced volunteers, you’ll help search for and record sightings in known habitat areas, contributing valuable citizen science data to support threatened species conservation.

⚠️ Important – Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding survey requiring a high level of fitness. The terrain is steep in places and will involve some off-track walking.

This event is suitable for experienced hikers only and is not appropriate for children or those with limited mobility.

We honour their deep connection to Country, pay our respects to Elders past and present, and recognise their enduring custodianship that has cared for these places for countless generations
