About the event

Something new is taking root at Plunkett Conservation Park.

Friends of Plunkett is a newly formed, volunteer-led group bringing people together to care for local bushland through habitat restoration and citizen science.

Their official launch on Sunday, March 1, marks the beginning of regular community-led conservation in the park — and everyone is welcome to be part of it.

The morning will begin with a short introduction to the group and its plans, followed by a walk to a regeneration site where attendees can get involved in hands-on Lantana removal.

Whether you’re experienced in bushcare or completely new, this is an opportunity to connect with your local environment and the people working to protect it.

Acknowledgement Of Country

Friends of Parks Queensland respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the lands and waters where we live, work, and play — including the Kombumerri, Gambuwal, Githabul, Yaggera, Jinibara, Butchulla, and Gubbi Gubbi peoples. We honour their deep connection to Country, pay our respects to Elders past and present, and recognise their enduring custodianship that has cared for these places for countless generations
