Join Friends of Nerang National Park on Saturday the 30th of March from 7:30am for a Richmond Birdwing Butterfly Discovery Walk with Davina Paterson! This event is funded through a Community Sustainability Action Grant from the Queensland Government.
The Richmond Birdwing Butterfly is listed as Vulnerable in Queensland due to habitat loss, habitat fragmentation, and the introduction of the invasive Dutchman's pipe that is toxic to larvae. This walk will explore some of the Richmond Birdwing Butterfly's habitat in Nerang National Park. Here you'll learn about the ecology of the Richmond birdwing butterfly and how to report sightings. It will be a great morning of exploring and learning!
What to bring: - Enclosed shoes - Long pants - Bug spray - Water - A smartphone with the iNaturalist app
