About the event

Dealing with Data Workshop

Are you a keen naturalist who loves recording field observations? Are you unsure about how to record field observations to state-wide or national databases? With over 300 citizen science projects in Queensland alone, it can be challenging to determine what the best way is to report data.

Friends of Parks Queensland & Gecko Environment Council invite you to join the Dealing with Data Workshop. This workshop will focus on the two major hubs for observation data collection in Queensland: the Atlas of Living Australia and WildNet. The two tools for data collection that will be covered are iNaturalist and Avenza.

We encourage all attendees to download the Avenza app (free) on their tablet or phone prior to attending the workshop in-person or online.

The workshop is free and open to anyone who is interested. The primary audience is Friends of Parks Queensland’s member groups who spend countless hours in our national parks, conservation parks, and state forests restoring biodiversity and participating in citizen science. Non-member groups, keen naturalists, and land managers are welcome to attend.

Please register on EventBrite prior to attending in-person. If you are attending online, please RSVP to jessica@friendsofparksqld.org to receive additional information and supporting documents to enhance participation on the day. This event will be recorded and shared online following the workshop. You do not need to register on EventBrite if you plan to attend online.
