About the event

Re-launching Friends of Burleigh Head National Park!

This iconic Park is calling for volunteers to help conserve critical habitat for wildlife on Kombumerri Country.

Did you know Burleigh Heads National Park (Jellurgal) is one of the most visited National Parks in Queensland? With a trove of threatened species, ecological communities, and enormous cultural significance, this Park deserves community-led care to help it thrive for future generations.

This group is led by Mitch Grieve, an ecological restoration expert and Burleigh local who has kindly volunteered his time and expertise to teach the community about this special place and guide restoration efforts.

All are welcome to come along to the re-launch event

Acknowledgement Of Country

Friends of Parks Queensland respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the lands and waters where we live, work, and play — including the Kombumerri, Gambuwal, Githabul, Yaggera, Jinibara, Butchulla, and Gubbi Gubbi peoples. We honour their deep connection to Country, pay our respects to Elders past and present, and recognise their enduring custodianship that has cared for these places for countless generations
